(BALTIMORE – April 4, 2026) — A couple of days ago, a man was shot near Pennsylvania Avenue behind The Avenue Market. BMORENews was on the scene. Initially, community reports suggested the man was unarmed. Based on that, we mislabeled some of the footage. We have since learned — and can confirm — that the man was, in fact, armed with both a gun and a knife. We correct that here. Now let’s deal with the bigger issue. Because while the caption was wrong, what unfolded — in the streets and in the comment section — was very real. I…

(New York, NY) — New York didn’t just inspire me—it sharpened my purpose. For years, my work has taken me to Harlem—specifically 275 Malcolm X Boulevard, just below 124th Street, home to the Harlem Business Alliance. That space, and the people in it, have played a meaningful role in our national push for Black economic empowerment. Leaders like Walter Edwards, Regina Smith, and Tasemere Gathers have stood with us for over 15 years as we’ve produced the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards across the country. Their consistency, their commitment, and their belief in the work have helped make New…

Each discussion will focus specifically on topics such as economic growth, workforce development, infrastructure, and the overall vitality of Charles County. “As the voice of business in Charles County, we…
(BALTIMORE – April 3, 2026) – When all else fails, society reaches for the oldest, most convenient scapegoat: the parents. When young people struggle, act out, or fall short of expectations, the narrative quickly turns to what wasn’t done at home—what values weren’t taught, what discipline wasn’t enforced, what guidance was missing. It’s a familiar refrain. It’s also incomplete and deeply flawed. Blaming parents ignores the broader ecosystem shaping today’s youth. It sidesteps the uncomfortable truth that many of our institutions—particularly our schools and public systems—are failing to meet the needs of the very children they are meant to serve.…

(BALTIMORE, MD – April 3, 2026) — A police-involved shooting on Pennsylvania Avenue has once again placed a spotlight on one of Baltimore’s most historically significant — and persistently underserved — corridors. The incident occurred Thursday in the 1700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, near the Avenue Market, where a 35-year-old man was shot during an encounter with police. According to city officials, the man is currently listed in critical but stable condition. Witnesses described a heavy police presence in the aftermath, with what some called an “onslaught” of police vehicles flooding the area. Tensions rose as onlookers gathered, with several…
