(BALTIMORE – October 14, 2026) – As a Baltimore business owner, I must pause from the grind to say: Thank you, Baltimore, for more than 24 years of consistent support for BMORENews.com, “The News Before the News.”
Our mission remains the same: to keep our community informed and remind us of our greatness as a people.
Born and raised in this city—first on the Eastside, then on the Westside—I love all of Baltimore. From jumbo steamed crabs on a hot summer day to fried oyster fritters and stuffed rockfish on a cool fall afternoon, this is our city, and we love it.
I personally think our communities get inundated with negative news. While we report the negative when necessary, Baltimore has another side.
I think of Jacqui Cummings on 25th Street and the 50 to 60 businesses she is convening at her upcoming Black Wall Street Expo. I think of Brother Rasul at Northeast Market, a Muslim brother with a history of excellence on the basketball court.
We tell these stories—the ones mainstream media typically overlooks or ignores. We know there are people doing extraordinary things right here, and their stories deserve to be told.
That’s the assignment for BMORENews.com: to be a beacon of light in our community.
But we cannot do it alone.
The writing, videos, editing, photography, and layout—believe me, it takes a team to consistently deliver the coverage, interviews, videos, and shorts you won’t find anywhere else. Most of our team is right here in Baltimore. We also publish BlackUSA.News, which connects us with strategic partners across the Diaspora.
Yet the people who deserve the most thanks are those who have made it their business to see us win.
And some of those people knew me long before there was a BMORENews.com.
My brother, Andrei LeBron James. My cousin, Regina Bullock. My Godbrother, Bishop Kevia Fernando Elliot. Trinette Ingram. Derick Boyd. Kevin Morgan. William White. Irvin Nore. Derick Jones. Coach Bob Wade. Kevin Scott. Jimmy Britton. Wanda Draper. Estella Ingram-Levy. Dr. Tyrone Taborn. William Hopson. Dot Towler. Emmanuel Price. Diane Bell-McKoy. J. Wyndal Gordon. Marty Glaze. Ven McCormick. Catherine B. Orange. Frances Parks. Kermit Williams. William Neal.
And there are others, no slight intended.
These people knew Doni before the website, before the broadcasts, and before the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards. They are part of the history behind the work you see today.
That is part of what made Saturday’s recognition at AI NextGen 2026 at the Baltimore Convention Center so meaningful. To receive the Futurist Award from Dr. Tyrone Taborn—someone who knew me before BMORENews.com—gave that moment a personal significance that goes beyond the award itself.
When someone has known you across the years, they know more than your title. They understand the journey it took to get here.
And I am grateful.
I am also grateful to every person who has helped us along the way. Whether you bought an ad, shared one of our Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards notices with a friend, watched an interview, or told someone about BMORENews.com, we appreciate every single deed.
We get phone calls and emails from people like Pat Tunstall, who speak words of life and encouragement. A man named Derek just signed up to become a recurring supporter.
Thank you—because you didn’t have to do it.
My mother was Lillie Juanita Glover, and she got her wings 41 years ago. She taught me a lesson I will never forget.
Long story short, I was acting ugly, and she commented: “You don’t appreciate shit!”
Well, my friends, I do now.
I have truly learned to be grateful for anything someone does for me. And I try to give more than I take.
Life has kept me humble enough to know that any one of us is but a blink away from a whole other reality. We all should probably be a tad more grateful.
And we certainly cannot look at our kids and wonder where they got it without considering the example we set ourselves.
Amen.
To the people who knew me before BMORENews.com, and to those who have joined us along the way: thank you for helping us keep going.
Thank you, Baltimore, for keeping BMORENews.com viable for more than 24 years.
We’re right here. We’re still reporting. And we appreciate all the love.
