Proceeds will support BMORENews’ independent Black media work—including our Emmy-nominated podcast, TV show, and events that uplift Black excellence. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will also benefit the Bea Gaddy Family Center, in recognition of its unwavering service to the Baltimore community.

Honorees include Kimberly Salley.

Who is Kimberly?

Kimberly Salley….. CEO, TV Personality, Radio Host, Entrepreneur, Multiple Business Owner, Producer, Educator, and Entertainment Manager.

Kim Salley was born on April 15th in Baltimore, Maryland.  She was raised in a household of business owners and entertainers.  Her father was the first Black business owner on Greenmount Avenue, and her mother was the sister of the famous pastor, Shirley Caesar.

She attended Baltimore City Public Schools and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Master’s in Education.

She started her first Business as a talent manager when she was 18 years old. She formed a kids’ dance group called Nerve Gas that performed shows with L.L. Cool J, local artists, and the Baltimore Club circuit.

Kim’s dream was to start the first Black-owned School of the Arts, where children could get a good education, develop their passion for the arts, and be spiritually fed: “Where stars are born!”

Kim believed every child has a gift or a talent, and
if she started developing it early, she could help create Stars….

In 1995, she founded God’s Little Angels Learning Center for infants to 5-year-olds. She educated students in the morning and taught dance in the afternoon. Her reputation in the community preceded her, with over 153 students.

In 2003, she opened a Christian school called GLA Academy, “School of Excellence” (K through 5th grade). This would empower her students to remain on the right path of Learning while she could continue to nurture their creativity.
