Son of Late Baltimore Philanthropist Anthony “Marty” Williams Launches “Be-More” App in Honor of His Father’s Legacy
(BALTIMORE – February 10, 2026) – My best friend, Anthony “Marty” Williams, passed away 13 years ago. His birthday would have been Saturday, February 7th — he would have turned 61. Marty devoted his life to uplifting young men in Baltimore, raising money so they could afford a college education. That spirit lives on through his son, Aris Williams, who just launched a new app called “Be-More” in his father’s honor. Here is what Aris had to say: Today, my father would have been 61! He devoted much of his life to raising money to help young men in Baltimore afford a college education, and that spirit of giving back has always stayed with me. Following in his footsteps, I’ve developed an app called “Be-More.” “Be-More” is a trivia game that sheds light on the rich history and culture of Baltimore, which are not typically shown in the headlines. Inspired by the Freerice app, “Be-More” features an ad bar at the bottom that generates revenue to give back to the Baltimore community while you learn! The ad bar is just a mock-up for now, but I’m actively seeking input, especially from local businesses and organizations, on potential partnerships and meaningful causes we can support together. Go download the app and let me know what y’all think! Try to get up to 12 questions correct in a row for a fun surprise animation! What neighborhoods, stories, or additions would you like to see next? I would love to hear it all! Big shoutout to Nick Eliacin for the publishing help — truly appreciate you. Download Be-More on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/be-more/id6758647279 Marty’s legacy continues. Download the app, support the mission, and learn something new about Baltimore.
