The fun kicked off Friday, November 4 at the Gene Siskel Film Center and continues through November 20 in person, with a virtual edition of the festival from Nov. 21-28.
The party gets startedΒ Opening NightΒ withΒ “A Black Harvest Feast”Β and heats up all weekend, with film premieres, tributes, awards presentations, and filmmaker Q&As galore, including an audience Q&A with rising starΒ Elegance Bratton, director of the autobiographical narrative feature debut,Β THE INSPECTION, which premiered to acclaim at both the Toronto International Film Festival and the Chicago International Film Festival.
Other guest appearances includeΒ Rita Coburn Whack, director ofΒ MARIAN ANDERSON: THE WHOLE WORLD IN HER HANDS;Β Derek Grace, director ofΒ WHATβS YOUR STORY? THE COMMUNITY FILM WORKSHOPβS 50 YEAR JOURNEY.
