(BALTIMORE – November 17, 2024)—Be sure to RSVP for BMORENews.com’s Black Wall Street SOIREE, our annual fundraiser to support our Joe Manns Black Wall Street initiative, on Thursday, December 5, 2024 (6 to 9 pm) at the Downtown Cultural Arts Center at 401 N. Howard Street. RSVP to https://blackwallstreetsoiree.eventbrite.com/.

As always, the event will feature the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards, where we celebrate Black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race.

Honorees will include Dr. Franklin Lance.

Who is Dr. Lance?

Dr. Franklin Lance is the President & CEO of Parks & People, a legacy environmental nonprofit in Baltimore City that administers equity-based reparations work in Baltimore’s Black communities by providing quality out-of-school-time programming and building state-of-the-art parks to spark community redevelopment.

As President, Dr. Lance continues his long-term invaluable service to Baltimore residents daily by leading the award-winning organization and providing vital support and vision. In addition to his years of work with Parks & People, he is also a Baltimore native and a well-connected and respected community leader in Greater Mondamin and the city beyond. Dr. Lance serves as Senior Pastor of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.

He is on the board of Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, Inc., University of Maryland School of Pharmacy PATIENT’s Steering Committee, Greater Mondawmin Coordinating Council, and Baltimore City’s HIV/AIDS Commission. He is a Magna Cum Laude alumni of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and an honors graduate of Howard University, where he received his Master’s and Doctorate degrees.
