(BALTIMORE – September 22, 2022) – The 2022 Undergraduate MATHFest will be held Friday, September 23 – Sunday, September 25 at Morgan State University (MSU).

Our 2022 J Ernest Wilkins Lecturer will be Akil Parker M.Ed (All This Math). His lecture will be held on the evening of Friday, September 23, 2022.

The organizers are Jemal Mohammed-Awel (MSU), Asamoah Nkwanta (MSU), Shea Burns (North Carolina A & T State University), Aris Winger (Georgia Gwinnett College), Brett Jefferson (Pacific Northwest National Labs), Omayra Ortega (Sonoma State University), Cory Colbert (Washington & Lee University), Leon Woodson (MSU – emeritus).

Contributed Talks and Poster Session

We will have space for up to ten student speakers at the conference. Each talk should be 20 minutes long, allowing for 5-10 minutes of questions and answers. We will provide audio visual equipment, including a microphone, podium, projector, and computer. Students may speak in groups. Talks will take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be a friendly competition for the most outstanding oral presentations.

We will also have space for students to present a poster Saturday evening. Students will be allowed to set-up their posters Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM, and the poster session will take place from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM. At least one student must be at the poster at all times. We will provide an easel and tape to showcase the poster. The poster should be 3 ft. by 4 ft. (36 inches by 48 inches). There will be a friendly competition for the most outstanding poster presentation.

The deadline to submit abstracts for talks/posters is Friday, September 9, 2022. The deadline for abstract submission has PASSED. If you have any other special needs, please e-mail programming@nam-math.org.
