Delegate Stephanie Smith won without being on 45th district ticket. While ticket went with Perez. Smith rolled with Wes Moore.

(BALTIMORE – July 31, 2022) – Congratulations are in order for 45th district Delegate Stephanie Smith as she recently tweeted about her successful re-election: “FINALLY, I’m pleased to announce that I’ve won my primary to return to the Maryland House of Delegates. Thank you to all my family, friends, colleagues, volunteers & neighbors who sacrificed their time and treasure in support of our campaign. 1/”

Del. Stephanie Smith won without being on the ticket with Sen. McCray.

The final results for the Democratic delegate race are as follows: Jackie Addison garnered 9,577 votes (25.34%); Smith pulled down 8,638 votes (22.85%); and Caylin Young got 8.567 votes (22.66%).

Former Delegate Talmadge Branch’s daughter, Chanel Branch, did not win.

Addison and Young were on the same ticket with state Sen. Cory McCray, but Smith chose to go it alone. It should be noted that while McCray was a supporter of Tom Perez for Governor, Smith rolled with the winning Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Wes Moore.
