Community forum will examine key races, voter engagement and the future of political representation
(BALTIMORE COUNTY – July 28, 2026) – Northwest Baltimore County residents are invited to a public discussion tonight examining the results of Maryland’s 2026 Democratic Primary and what those results could mean for the region.
The Politics Northwest Baltimore County Post-Primary Election Recap begins at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 28, at Marie’s Island Kitchen, located in the Marriottsville Shopping Center, 9828 Liberty Road.
The community forum will focus on the races that shaped the Second, Third and Fourth Councilmanic Districts, along with the 10th Legislative District.
Community activist Danny M. Blount and other participants will examine the election results, emerging political trends, voter participation and the issues residents should watch as the November General Election approaches.
“We’re pulling this together because we care about the community and want to be transparent about what actually occurred during the primary election,” Blount previously told BMORENews. “We also want to make sure the community has all the pertinent information moving forward into the General Election.”
The conversation comes during a significant period of political change in Baltimore County. Voters approved expanding the County Council from seven to nine members, creating new districts and opening the door to a new generation of political leadership.
The primary produced several consequential outcomes, including victories by Ruben Amaya in the Second Councilmanic District, Makeda Scott in the Third District and Karson Kamenetz in the Fourth District. Each result carries implications for how Northwest Baltimore County will be represented and how effectively elected leaders will respond to the needs of communities along Liberty Road and throughout Randallstown, Owings Mills and surrounding areas.
Tonight’s program will include election analysis, audience questions and an open community discussion. Residents will also have an opportunity to share their concerns and expectations for the candidates advancing to the General Election.
The event is free and open to the public.
