Best of the West, Irvin “Buggie” Nore, to be Honored at Black Wall Street WOODLAWN

(BALTIMORE – May 23, 2026) – For many of us who grew up in West Baltimore, Irvin “Buggie” Nore is more than a businessman. He is family. He is consistency. He is what happens when a young man takes opportunity seriously and never lets go of discipline, faith, and responsibility.

That is why it is our pleasure to honor Irvin Nore at Black Wall Street WOODLAWN on June 4, 2026. RSVP to blackwallstreetwoodlawn.eventbrite.com.

Buggie and I go way back — back to Matthew Henson Elementary School and Lemmel Junior High School. He then became a Walbrook Warrior, along with many others from the community, including his best friend, Darryl Motley. We grew up together in the Easterwood community during a time when role models were often defined not by speeches, but by work ethic.

And one thing everybody remembers about Buggie was Chicken George at Mondawmin Mall.

Back then, after school, that was the spot. And Irvin was the manager. To many of us, he was the first person from our immediate community we saw working a real job with responsibility and leadership. That mattered. Representation matters — especially for young Black boys trying to figure out what manhood looks like.

But what makes his story even more powerful is that he stayed the course.

While many people bounce from thing to thing, Irvin built a career. Over the past 43 years, he has become an influential business leader with extensive experience in retail management and sales leadership. He served as District Sales Manager at Herr Foods Inc., where he led with integrity, mentorship, and excellence.

A student of Business Management at the Community College of Baltimore, Irvin also demonstrated entrepreneurship as the owner of LaDan Lawn and Landscaping, which specializes in landscape design and outdoor beautification.

Yet for all his professional success, those who know Buggie best will tell you his greatest strength is his character.

He often credits his father for raising him the right way. And it shows.

Irvin is a God-fearing man who has faithfully served his church and community. As the former Director of The King’s Men’s Ministry at Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church, he mentored men through accountability, faith, and spiritual leadership.

Equally important is the family legacy he and his wife, Audrey, have built together. Married for 37 years, the couple raised two accomplished daughters, Tangala and Amber Nore, both of whom earned Master’s degrees. Their story reflects the power of stability, faith, education, and love.

In a world where negativity often dominates headlines, Irvin Nore represents something steady and honorable.

He represents the brothers who quietly go to work every day.
The husbands who stay committed.
The fathers who lead by example.
The men who give back without asking for applause.

And for those of us from Easterwood Park, seeing Buggie’s journey makes us proud because he never forgot where he came from.

Black Wall Street WOODLAWN is proud to honor Irvin “Buggie” Nore — a businessman, mentor, family man, and living example of leadership done the right way.
