(BALTIMORE – April 25, 2023) – Acclaimed author Kevin Powell will reflect on his thirty-year career. Â The author of numerous books and essays that range from the Black Lives Matter movement and the COVID-19 pandemic to profiles of Tupac Shakur, Aretha Franklin, and Stacey Abrams, will also examine his personal struggles and professional growth over the past three decades. Â Kevin Powell will be joined in conversation by author and sports writer Dave Zirin.

Kevin Powell is an author, journalist, filmmaker, and activist. Â He is the author of fifteen books, including his recent poetry collection Grocery Shopping with My Mother.
Dave Zirin is a sports writer for the Nation magazine.  His many books focus on the politics of sports, including What’s My Name, Fool?: Sports and Resistance in the United States, and The Kaepernick Effect: Taking a Knee, Changing the World. Â
