Truth Be Told: Today’s Democratic Party & The GOP
Truth Be Told Today’s Democratic Party & The GOP By Santura Pegram

(MIAMI, FL – April 6, 2026) – “The United States is experiencing the early stages of serious trouble ahead” is a statement now echoed by most American citizens and countless visitors from other countries. A belief that applies to more than one topic. The continual rise in mass unemployment due to corporate mismanagement, malfeasance, greed, and the shift towards AI technology has further kickstarted increasing income disparities. Unwarranted fear of other ethnic groups has reignited misunderstandings, ignorance, and hatred among one group towards another, which has exploded in the form of unrestrained public displays of racism. A flame that has been irresponsibly fanned by a hateful, unstable, dictator-minded President who has forced race relations (and more) in America backwards sixty-plus years. And then, there is the unbridled threat of overzealous and abusive law enforcement officers, ICE agents, biased judges, and thirst-for-convictions-over-truth-focused prosecutors who care nothing about right vs. wrong or your civil rights who have transformed courtrooms into fodder meant for Jerry Springer-like audiences.

Aside from those main causes of U.S. decline, partisan politics and the reliance on the Republican or Democratic parties have also fueled ongoing division.

Dissecting the Democratic Party:

Over the past fifty years, the world has experienced both positive and negative changes. And when it applies to politics, distinct differences have exacerbated the gradual breakdown in the methods both parties have used to make one party superior to the other. Agree or not, for the last twenty-five of those years, most Americans have lost confidence in the Democratic Party due to the Party’s lack of a real fight in the dog (instead of a dog in the fight) mentality. To sum it up, Democratic leadership figures of today operate like they have been neutered or spayed. From mayors, local city council members, county council members, to state legislators and those occupying seats in Congress, Democratic members “talk tough,” but fail to produce the same no-nonsense, fearless spirit of those who served before them. More than half of them (in every city, county & state) cannot get along with each other or have different personal agendas. Each level of the Democratic Party selectively chooses to support questionable candidates in races in which they feel most “comfortable” directing their contributions, administrative, and operational support towards a particular campaign(s). This leaves first-time candidates—some more qualified than other Democratic or Republican opponents and in crucial races—without needed support. More than anything else, Democrats have no organized plan that is convincingly appealing or tangible to most citizens today. They have regurgitated the same rhetorical mantras election after election: “Do you know how many people have made sacrifices and died for you to be able to vote? Get registered to vote because your vote matters!” And, the best to date: “Yes we can!”

Yet, the Democratic Party’s actions have not resonated with most people, and the DNC’s leadership stubbornly refuses to recognize that people are beyond tired of hearing the same underlying messages without experiencing any meaningful improvements, have lost faith in the Party as a whole, and are voter-fatigued.

Dissecting the Republican Party:

The Republicans, on the other hand, recognize the divide within the Democratic ranks and have capitalized on it at every chance. Regardless of personal opinion, Republicans are considered ‘organized,’ and like an experienced, well-conditioned boxer over a less-experienced, less conditioned one, can immediately identify the chinks in the armor of Democrats. The GOP may be flawed, too, but they have a unified plan. Although half of the nation despises Republicans for their gullible allegiance to a national figure who has destroyed the global reputation of one of the most highly coveted positions in the world and someone who goes against most things they believe in, most Republicans have a blind and deaf willingness to stick together in spite of the consequences, even as some continue to lose key elections. Then, one of the most cancerous challenges of Republicans is their inability to overcome the alienating image they have continued to portray to all of America and the world at large. That image: Wealthy Whites rule! It is the unspoken elephant factor in every room that might have worked over decades for many such loyalists, and still has a way to help some rise to certain levels who rely upon their White privilege, but for the vast majority of people today it is becoming more of a reason to shun the Republican Party because people frown upon supporting any organization that not only looks down on and have refused to help economically oppressed members of their own ethnic group (who they unadmittedly consider “White trash”), but even Crayola has long understood that it requires more than one bland color to paint a beautiful image, so embrace the need to work with people of different cultures.

The suggestion is that since BOTH parties are clearly out of touch with reality, they need to begin “listening to the public instead of assuming their leadership has all the answers.” People are the heartbeat of communities. They will tell elected and appointed officials what they need to know if they’re receptive. Otherwise, meaningful progress is unlikely unless Democrats and Republicans collaborate both within and beyond their parties to serve the best interests of all Americans.
