Who is Preston Gerard Boyd, MSM, MDIV aka Minister P of Rock of Helps Ministry?
Minister P. is a servant faith-based community leader who consistently serves as a conduit of hope for returning citizens, shelter-challenged individuals and families as well as individuals burdened with substance addiction. He founded Rock of Helps in 2014 a faith-based non-profit organization whose mission is to create holistic spaces that foster empowering pathways for individual and community life journey navigations. With a burdened commitment to faith, social justice and community Minister P is instrumental in providing the leadership responsible for fostering a change of perspective in the lives of returning citizens in partnership with Healing Communities USA as a Station of Hope chapter coordinator.
Minister P.’s pathway as a community leader genesis is rooted in his birth order. He is the oldest of 4 brothers growing up primarily in the Sandtown community in West Baltimore. The formation of his foundation for leadership began with the responsibility of guiding the lives of his younger brothers to navigate the challenges of growing up in an urban community plagued by limited resources. Minister P’s journey has impacted individual, and community lives throughout the cities of Baltimore and Washington, DC utilizing coaching basketball, and mentoring men both adult and youth.
As the leader of Rock of Helps, Minister P has facilitated numerous initiatives targeted to improve the lives of Returning Citizens, Shelter Challenged Individuals and Families, as well as Individuals burdened with substance addiction, and veterans. From providing families with family members incarcerated with transportation to visit detention centers in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, as an advocate resource by writing reference letters on behalf of incarcerated individuals. Minister P is committed to the mission work of Rock of Helps whose intention is the betterment of the lives the organization encounters.
Minister P is also committed to the building of men through faith formation through his advanced workshop programs, small discussion group meetings, and one-on-one life coaching practices. The fruits of his leadership and community engagement are evident in the life journey changes of individuals who have encountered this vessel of the Creator.
Minister P’s leadership and community work are edified by his commitment to being a continuous learner of best practices, methodologies, and research findings. He is a holder of several certificates and collegiate degrees.
