Who is Kendra?Â
Kendra Adams is the third-generation general manager of JJ Adams Fuel Oil Co., LLC, a family-owned fuel delivery company started by her grandfather, Jethro Adams, who has served Baltimore City and surrounding areas for over 60 years. She started with the company informally at 16 years old and returned full-time in 2017 after spending 10 years as an engineer in business, project management, and safety. Her corporate experience and love of mathematics (and Excel spreadsheets) allow her to bring her strengths of process improvement, profit maximization, and proposal writing to JJ Adams Fuel.
While traditionally, the company has focused on heating oil delivery to local residential customers, since 2017, Kendra has expanded the fuel types delivered and delivery footprint of the company, increased the focus on fuel and cost management, increased JJ Adams’s presence on the internet and improved the safety culture. You’ll often find Kendra networking at a business event, keeping the JJ Adams Fuel name in the mix for new business.
Kendra has a formal background in engineering, having earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Morgan State University. She later returned to Morgan State to earn a B.S. in Nutritional Science. She is a health and fitness fanatic, loves deadlifts, obstacle course 10k runs, and tennis, enjoys reading and volunteering, has a passion for Scripture, and bakes a mean mac and cheese … most importantly, she loves her family. Her resolve is to continue the JJ Adams Fuel legacy to 75 years and beyond.
