Emmy-nominated Doni Glover Show: Sharonda Huffman for County Council

(BALTIMORE – January 6, 2025) – Sharonda (Dillard) Huffman is seeking election to the Baltimore County Council in 2026 when the county is set to have an expanded council district of nine. She is a housing disability manager for a nonprofit housing organization and was a delegate to the 2024 Democratic National Convention. She has been a resident of Essex in East Baltimore County for over 20 years.

If she wins, she will be the first woman of color to serve on the council. She aspires to be like her role model and sorority sister, Victorine Quille Adams, the first Black woman to serve on the Baltimore City Council.

Huffman strongly advocates inclusive, accessible, and affordable housing for persons with disabilities. However, her most important job is being a wife of over 25 years and mother of three children. Her oldest son, 25, is an adult with autism; her middle son, 19, is a sophomore at Morgan; and her youngest daughter, 15, is a county high schooler.

She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Morgan State University and a Master of Public Administration from Strayer University. She chairs the Baltimore County Housing Committee with Maryland Inclusive Housing; a board member of the Greater Chesapeake Chamber of Commerce; holds memberships in Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.; the NAACP; the Greater Baltimore Urban League; the National Association of Parliamentarians; the Baltimore City Inclusionary Housing Coalition; other non-partisan organizations. She is also a founder and President of the Blue and Gold Democratic Club.
