Daniel P. Henson, III Henson Development Co.

(BALTIMORE – October 19, 2023) – It is with great honor that we announce the forthcoming presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award to Daniel P. Henson, III. This prestigious recognition will take place on December 9th at Unity Hall, marking a momentous occasion in celebrating his remarkable contributions and accomplishments.

Renowned as the President of the Henson Development Company, Mr. Henson has left an indelible mark on the City of Baltimore, spearheading transformative projects such as the 289-unit luxury apartment complex at 1405 Point St. in East Harbor and the innovative 233-unit apartment complex, Plaza West, in Washington.

But beyond his impressive professional journey, many remember him for his pivotal role as Housing Commissioner of the City’s Housing Authority and Executive Director of the City’s Department of Housing and Community Development during the tenure of then-Mayor Kurt L. Schmoke.

This exceptional individual has not only demonstrated an unparalleled aptitude for land, buildings, and development but has also been a source of inspiration in elevating individuals within the community, leaving an indelible legacy.

The occasion of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be part of the 21st Anniversary Celebration of BMORENews.com, presented in collaboration with STEMCITYUSA.com. The event will also host the Official Welcome BEYA Back to Baltimore Committee Reception, featuring the highly esteemed Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards.

“I was lucky enough to meet Dan my first week in the business,” said developer Christopher Mfume. “It was obviously inspirational to see someone who looked like me completing big projects. But the thing that really stood out to me was that you never had to question his motives. Dan was the voice in the room for those who don’t always get a say.”

To join us in honoring Mr. Henson, kindly RSVP at https://blackwallstreetreunion.eventbrite.com and save the date for this special gathering. The event will be co-hosted by the exceptionally talented artist, Tamara Payne, and the host of Bmore Lifestyles, Marc Clarke. An exquisite culinary experience awaits, provided by Tony Randall’s Next Phaze Cafe.

Don’t miss this remarkable occasion to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Daniel P. Henson, III, and to connect with like-minded individuals in the business and community at Unity Hall on December 9th.
