Since 2011, BMORENews and its partners have recognized more than 2,900 leaders across 9 U.S. cities for their contributions to Black entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. This year, we’re excited to expand that legacy with the debut of the Black Wall Street Youth Awards — a new initiative designed to uplift and showcase the rising generation of Black changemakers, visionaries, and future business leaders.

Who is K.?
K. Lancaster, affectionately known as Lady Lancaster, is one half of the dynamic comedy and music duo The Real Lancasters. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Lady Lancaster is an American singer and actress whose journey to the stage is as inspiring as it is unique.
The daughter of immigrant parents who emphasized academics over the arts, Lady Lancaster’s passion for music found its way through despite the odds. From writing songs and forming girl groups with schoolmates to catching the attention of her next-door neighbor—a bass guitarist—who invited her to sing live for the first time at just 14, her musical roots run deep.
Her career highlights include competing on Season 4 of American Idol, performing in multiple stage plays, releasing EPs and singles on major streaming platforms, and gracing stages throughout the DMV area with her vibrant live performances.
Known for her colorful personality and soulful sound, Lady Lancaster’s music blends influences from pop and R&B icons like Whitney Houston with reggae greats such as Sizzla Kalonji and Bob Marley. With undeniable talent and a growing body of work, Lady Lancaster continues to carve her path toward musical and entertainment success.
