(BALTIMORE – October 23, 2025)—BMORENews.com is proud to announce that we will recognize a Baltimore icon on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Black Wall Street NEW BALTIMORE, hosted at Coppin State University’s College of Business.

He is certified in both East and West Baltimore—an accomplishment few have made in this city. He has a heart of gold and has touched so many lives. He’s a living legend who was just over at Cloverdale’s Annual Labor Day Celebration, hosting the darn thing. Go figure! Furthermore, he went to school with my father. I went to the Atlanta University Complex with his daughter. Small world. So, this is a real treat for me and countless others.

Honoree: Dr. Warren C. Hayman
Dr. Warren C. Hayman is a career educator who has served as Public School District Superintendent, Dean of Education, Vice-President of Student Affairs and Education Policy Fellow in the United States Department of Education. Dr. Hayman retired from his position of Assistant Dean of Education at Morgan State University in 2004 after 42 years of service in public education. He is currently Program Coordinator for the Doctoral Program at Morgan State University in Urban Educational Leadership (Part-Time).

Dr. Hayman was appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Community College of Baltimore County in 2007. Prior to that appointment, Dr. Hayman served as a member of the Baltimore County School Board for ten years. He was elected School Board Vice-President during the 2005 school year and named the PTA Board Member of the Year in 2006. Dr. Hayman’s public school educational expertise is shared with others as an international educational consultant and motivational speaker.

Dr. Hayman received his B.S. from Coppin State, M.A. from Stanford University, and Ed.D. from Harvard University. In 2005, he attended the Oxford Roundtable at Oxford University in Oxford, England. Dr. Hayman continues to use his educational knowledge and experience to benefit the Baltimore Metropolitan area and beyond. He coordinated the Bethel AME Church Tutorial Ministry. For the last ten years, he has been the President of the Dunbar High School Advisory Board.

Dr. Hayman is a member of 100 Black Men of Maryland, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Board President of Nairobi College – East Palo Alto, CA, and co-chair of the Basketball Academy. The married father of three children has been honored with the Distinguished Black Marylander Award, the Fullwood Foundation Award, the Rotary Club of Woodlawn-Westview “Service Above Self Award,” Baltimore County NAACP Excellence in Education Award, Coppin State University Athletic Hall of Fame, Associated Black Charities Special Recognition Award, and Coppin State University Vision Award (Alumni Honoree).
