Young Designer Brings Handmade Accessories Brand to January 3rd Summit

(BALTIMORE – December 22, 2025) – Mackenzie, the 11-year-old founder of Mackenzie Olivia & Co., will be honored at the second annual Black Wall Street Youth Awards during the Black Wall Street New Year Summit 2026 on Saturday, January 3, 2026.

The young entrepreneur has built a thriving handmade accessories business, designing and creating scrunchies, bows, and tote bags, along with custom pieces that showcase her creative vision and business acumen.

Mackenzie recently showcased her business at the Acton Children’s Business Fair in November 2024 and is currently working on launching her online store—demonstrating the kind of strategic growth mindset that embodies the spirit of Black Wall Street.

“This is exactly why we created the Black Wall Street Youth Awards,” said Doni Glover, founder of BMORENews.com and creator of the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards program. “Mackenzie represents the next generation of entrepreneurs who are learning business fundamentals, building brands, and creating economic opportunity at just 11 years old. That’s the legacy of Maggie Lena Walker in action.”

The Black Wall Street Youth Awards honors entrepreneurs ages 17 and under, recognizing young people who are building businesses, creating jobs, and demonstrating entrepreneurial excellence in their communities.

Mackenzie will be honored alongside other young entrepreneurs at the summit, which takes place from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Downtown Cultural Arts Center, 401 N. Howard St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
