The party is about to start! Do you have your tickets yet for our 28th Annual Black Harvest Film Festival?
The fun kicked off Friday, November 4 at the Gene Siskel Film Center and continues through November 20 in person, with a virtual edition of the festival from Nov. 21-28.
The party gets started Opening Night with “A Black Harvest Feast” and heats up all weekend, with film premieres, tributes, awards presentations, and filmmaker Q&As galore, including an audience Q&A with rising star Elegance Bratton, director of the autobiographical narrative feature debut, THE INSPECTION, which premiered to acclaim at both the Toronto International Film Festival and the Chicago International Film Festival.
Other guest appearances include Rita Coburn Whack, director of MARIAN ANDERSON: THE WHOLE WORLD IN HER HANDS; Derek Grace, director of WHAT’S YOUR STORY? THE COMMUNITY FILM WORKSHOP’S 50 YEAR JOURNEY.
And here’s the icing on the cake (the butter on the popcorn?) …. concessions are back!! After 30 long months on hiatus, the Film Center is bringing back concessions just in time for the opening of our Black Harvest Film Festival. Enjoy popcorn, candy, coffee, water, beer, or wine with your movie starting Friday, Nov. 4!
