Baltimore City Department of Public Works’ Small Business Development Program C/O 2019



Some 78 entrepreneurs, the largest cohort yet, completed their training, including OSHA certifications, and celebrated with a closing ceremony at Morgan State University’s Earl G. Graves School of Business. This program is the Baltimore City Department of Public Works’ Small Business Development Program. It exists to help minorities gain access to contracts on upgrading Baltimore City’s sewer water waste system. It comes as a result of a federally mandated Consent Decree. Vanessa Pyatt’s consulting firm manages the program, one that has already seen graduates obtain million dollar contracts. She is to be celebrated, for sure! Special thanks also to Pierre Stewart of PSA and to Robert Harrington of R. E. Harrington. Not only one of the guest speakers, Harrington also sponsored several scholarships for emerging entrepreneurs.
