Where Harlem Meets the World: Black Wall Street CHELSEA Honors Richard E. Pelzer II
Richard Pelzer has helped position Harlem not only as a historic cultural capital, but as a living, evolving engine of creativity and commerce.

(NEW YORK – April 6, 2026) – Richard E. Pelzer II has spent more than three decades proving that community and commerce are not competing interestsβ€”they are, as he puts it, a superpower.

As President and CEO of MEGA Personalities, the business development management firm he founded in New York City in 1994, Pelzer has built a career at the intersection of culture, creativity, and enterprise. His client roster reads like a who’s who of American cultural institutions: the NYSE Diversity Council, Sephora, Essence Magazine, the Apollo Theater, and the NYCxDesign Festival, among others.

But what distinguishes Pelzer is not just who he has worked withβ€”it’s how he has worked. Across industries and economic cycles, he has cultivated long-term, creative partnerships grounded in both vision and disciplineβ€”delivering results that endure well beyond favorable conditions.

A graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Business Management, Pelzer has long understood that aesthetics and economics are not separate conversationsβ€”they are part of the same language when properly aligned. That foundation has guided his work across fashion, beauty, and entertainment, both nationally and internationally.

Still, it is his commitment to Harlem where the full measure of his vision comes into focus.

As co-founder of HarlemCLXβ€”formerly Harlem2020β€”and Managing Partner and General Manager of the Harlem Fine Arts Show, Pelzer has helped position Harlem not only as a historic cultural capital, but as a living, evolving engine of creativity and commerce. His work ensures that Harlem continues to speak to the worldβ€”on its own terms.

He also serves on the Advisory Board of the NYCxDesign Festival, representing Harlem on one of New York City’s premier design stagesβ€”further reinforcing his role as both ambassador and architect of cultural connectivity.

Most recently, Pelzer has expanded into film as an Executive Producer, contributing to a slate of impactful projects including 90 Days, Burden, All Boys Aren’t Blue, and It Can Be Done: Ending Homelessness in Americaβ€”all written and directed by Nathan Hale Williams. This spring, that collaboration continues with Love Will Save The Day, a title that, fittingly, echoes the ethos behind Pelzer’s life’s work.

For more than thirty years, Richard E. Pelzer II has built bridgesβ€”between Harlem and the world, between culture and commerce, and between vision and execution.

For that legacy, and for the work still ahead, Black Wall Street CHELSEA is proud to honor him at its April 14th ceremony in New York City.
