CHESAPEAKE HABITAT: Celebrating 40 Years of Community!

Thank you for joining us as we continue to celebrate our 40th Anniversary series! Each month, we’re highlighting the voices of our constituents, from volunteers to homebuyers to partners, and showing our gratitude for how they’re helping us launch into our next decade. This month, we’re celebrating COMMUNITY with a special focus on the Sandtown-Winchester community! We spoke with Bert Hash, former President of MECU of Baltimore, who also served on the Habitat Sandtown and Habitat Chesapeake boards. Through partnerships and advocates like Mr. Hash, Habitat Sandtown built over 300 homes across Sandtown, creating an incredible precedent for homeownership in Baltimore. Habitat Sandtown merged with Habitat Chesapeake in 2014 and has carried its vision to other communities across central Maryland. “I often said that I slept in Howard County, but I lived in Baltimore. It’s the people working together, trying to help each other, the growth of the community house by house, block by block, brick by brick.” — Bert Hash, on the special community found in Sandtown Visit our website to read the stories about our work with communities: https://www.habitatchesapeake.org/40t...
