This month, we’re celebrating COMMUNITY with a special focus on the Sandtown-Winchester community! We spoke with Bert Hash, former President of MECU of Baltimore, who also served on the Habitat Sandtown and Habitat Chesapeake boards. Through partnerships and advocates like Mr. Hash, Habitat Sandtown built over 300 homes across Sandtown, creating an incredible precedent for homeownership in Baltimore. Habitat Sandtown merged with Habitat Chesapeake in 2014 and has carried its vision to other communities across central Maryland. “I often said that I slept in Howard County, but I lived in Baltimore.
