(BALTIMORE – October 5, 2024) — The State of Maryland’s West North Avenue Development Authority (WNADA) is thrilled to unveil the culminating event of a series of planning sessions aimed at rejuvenating West Baltimore. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10 am to 12 noon, at the Baltimore Unity Hall, 1505 N. Eutaw Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21217.

Over the past two years, WNADA has engaged in and facilitated numerous interactive community interaction sessions to collect insights and suggestions for the West North Avenue Comprehensive Revitalization Plan.  This Plan is the first all-encompassing document ever developed for the 16 resource-abundant yet under-resourced neighborhoods along the West North Avenue corridor.

Charged by the Maryland General Assembly, this planning document incorporates extensive analyses that draw from existing neighborhood plans to enhance current situations and forge future economic development, housing, transportation, and community development prospects. This concluding planning event will feature a presentation of conceptual visual renderings created by Quinn Evans, a Maryland-based firm honored with the 2024 American Institute of Architects award.

Quinn Evans has a long history of redefining preservation and restoring countless cherished buildings and sites nationwide.

“This comprehensive plan unites a diverse, dedicated network of residents, grassroots organizations, businesses, community development corporations, and local government representatives, fostering collaboration and equitable opportunities, “ stated Chad Williams, Executive Director of the West North Avenue Development Authority.“ As the host and primary State agency, WNADA embodies the spirit of resilient community revitalization.  The synergy among State, City, and local groups is the catalyst to reimagine a sustainable future where neighborhoods transform into an enhanced West Baltimore.”

Join over 300 fellow Baltimoreans planning to attend the grand reveal of West North Avenue’s future over the coming years. Please RSVP for the event at https://www.wnada.org/wnada-comprehensive-revitalization-plan-series. To download the West North Avenue Comprehensive Plan, visit https://www.wnada.org/about-us#AboutUs.

All attendees will enjoy a continental breakfast starting at 10:00 a.m.  The program will begin promptly at 10:30 am and feature brief announcements from key State and City officials to be disclosed later. The event will wrap up with Senator Antonio Hayes’s important message regarding community support for future initiatives to revitalize West Baltimore.

Join us in creating a West Baltimore where everyone enjoys a sustainable neighborhood and business corridor.
