Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month at Coppin State
We are 44 days away from our Commencement Ceremony, Friday, May 17 at the PEC Field. Here are a few dates to know May 8 - Graduation Rehearsal May 16 - Graduation Rehearsal

(BALTIMORE – April 5, 2024) – Dear Eagles Nation:

Our newsletter’s color this week is teal, in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. As we enter Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, Coppin State University reaffirms its commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all members of our community. This month serves as a crucial opportunity to raise awareness, educate, and advocate for the prevention of sexual misconduct in all its forms.

Throughout this month, we will be engaging in various initiatives to raise awareness about sexual assault, including educational workshops, engagement campaigns, and support services. Together, we can make a difference and build a future where all individuals can live without fear of harm or injustice.

If you are a survivor of sexual assault and misconduct, your physical safety and emotional well-being are a priority. If you are in immediate danger or injured, call 911, or the Coppin State University Police at 410.951.3911.

There are several other campus resources available to people who have experienced sexual assault, abuse, and harassment:
Confidential medical treatment is available from the University’s Community Health Center at 410-951-4188. Coppin State University Police are available to transport you to a local medical facility if the University’s Health Center is closed.

Confidential counseling and support services are also available through the Center for Counseling and Student Development at 410.951.3959 or 410.951.4264.

Our Title IX Office is accessible to all faculty, staff, and students. You can contact Title IX Coordinator, Ms. Katsura Kurita by email at kkurita@coppin.edu or by phone at 410.951.6543.

This month, the Title IX Office is partnering with student organizations and other offices to host events focused on the theme: Consent Get It. Got It? End Sexual Violence.
