Orlyn Evans, also known as “Earthly Jewels” was born in February of 1963 in New York. She has managed to live in 4 boroughs in the tri-state area, which helped her navigate her way through the communities to find her fit. She is the Chairperson of The “22” Points Team Youth Program, established in 2013. The program consists of four teams: Track, Chess, Double-Dutch, & a Drill Team. Her dedication and commitment are always focused on the youth.
Earthly Jewels is currently employed by The Department of Education as a Paraprofessional, which she started in December of 2021. She was a School Lunch Helper for over 6 years. Her passion for culinary arts is unbelievable. She caters all of her events for the children and always puts together a fantastic program, which includes paint & sip, 3-on-3 basketball tournaments, chess tournaments, track & field relay races, and other activities to keep the children entertained.
She also works closely with elected officials, and is a member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Democratic Party Club. Further, she volunteers at a number of organizations in Harlem. An active member of the 5% Nation of Gods and Earths, her 29th Anniversary will be in August. She served as Vice-Chairperson for over 20 years in the 5 boroughs.
In this time, she has received a number of awards from Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, Assemblywoman Inez Dickens, Former Congressman Charlie Rangel, and the C. E. R. T. Team for her accomplishments, community involvement, and her work with children.
In 2019, Earthly Jewels invented a Pooper Scooper, which will soon hit the market.
Earthly Jewels is a mother of four: daughter Ramla 42, 22 years FDNY; Rahmel 25, Senior at Morehouse College; Naheem20, 2 years FEDEX; Ty’East 18, Senior at Eagle Rock School in Colorado. She is also the grandmother of twins 19: Myles 1 year DOE & Mason Freshman at Devey Business School.
