(BALTIMORE – December 1, 2022) – Be sure to RSVP to https://blackpressmatters.eventbrite.com/ for the BMORENews 20th Anniversary event, “Black Press Matters”, set for Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 3 to 5 pm at Nancy by SNAC located at 131 W. North Avenue in Baltimore.

The event will feature the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards and the “Dear Black Girl” art exhibit by local artist extraordinaire, Tamara Payne.

Honorees include Nicole Kirby, the Principal and Founder of CarVer Communications. Over the years, Kirby’s winning reputation has catapulted her to the forefront as the mastermind of various high-exposure social justice campaigns in partnership with a few well-known activists. Among them: Attorney Benjamin Crump, Rev. Al Sharpton, Rev. Jessie Jackson, and Dr. Jamal Bryant. Through these impactful associations, Kirby has evolved as a leading press conduit for key efforts to eradicate injustice for victims such as Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, Korryn Gaines, and Freddie Gray. She also garnered national support for the Flint Water Crisis, “Bring Back Our Girls from Boko Haram”, and the #BuyBlack campaigns. READ MORE ON NICOLE

The Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards were established in 2011 by BMORENews and Sisters4Sisters Network, Inc. in Washington, D.C. Since then, BMORENews and its Partners have honored over 1,900 Black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race in 9 US cities. The goal is to help preserve little-known Black Wall Street history nationally and to help encourage entrepreneurship beginning in the Black community.
