Baltimore Met Gala Unveils 2025 Theme in Spectacular Celebration
A Celebration of Creative Vision

(BALTIMORE – March 18, 2025) – In a dazzling evening of fashion, art, and culinary brilliance, held on Monday, March 17, 2025, the 2025 Baltimore Met Gala (BMG) Theme Reveal captivated hundreds of attendees at the newly completed 4 MLK Building in the city’s Biomed Park. The theme reveal, hosted by WBAL TV news anchor Megan Rivers, marked an electrifying milestone for Baltimore’s creative scene, with designers, models, photographers, chefs, artists, entrepreneurs, and fashionistas eagerly anticipating the grand announcement.

The venue, a collaboration between The Finn Group and MOI, provided the perfect backdrop for the evening. This partnership was responsible for designing, ordering, and installing all furniture, fixtures, and equipment for the 4 MLK Building’s shared space, Wexford Corporate Office, and Connect Labs Research space—creating a dynamic and immersive environment for the event.
The highlight of the evening was the announcement of this year’s theme: “TIMELESS – The Evolution of Style: PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE.” The theme pays tribute to the artistic journey through fashion, visual arts, and culinary culture, showcasing the intersection of history and innovation that defines Baltimore’s creative landscape.
A Celebration of Creative Vision
Executive Producers LaRian Finney and Derrick Chase, who have been instrumental in shaping the mission and vision of the Baltimore Met Gala, were lauded for their leadership and dedication. “I want to welcome the pioneers behind this. They call themselves executive producers, but I think they deserve a much bigger title than that because they are pioneers in the city,” Rivers said as she introduced the duo.
The unveiling event also launched the Road to the Met Gala initiative, a series of exclusive events leading up to the main gala on September 13 at The HALL – LIVE! Casino & Hotel Maryland. The lineup includes:
  • May – VIP Reception at the Lord Baltimore Hotel Rooftop
  • June – Community Impact Reception
  • July – Artist Reveal
  • August – Designer Reveal
  • September – Culinary Reveal
An Event Rooted in Community and Faith
Chase emphasized the more profound significance of the BMG, stating, “The MET Gala is not just a fashion event. It’s an opportunity to look around, see one another, and say, ‘Yeah, we’re the best.’ And even more than that, it’s about supporting each other, walking into our designers’ shops, buying their work, and investing in each other’s visions.”
He added, “This is a team of equals, where everyone pulls their weight. This event thrives because we have battle-tested faith in one another.”
Finney echoed this sentiment, underscoring the gala’s commitment to representing Baltimore’s diverse creative talents: “We create something that not only Baltimore but the entire region can be proud of. We must uplift the designers, artists, and restaurants that showcase the best of our city. This is not just about black excellence—we are excellent in everything we do.”
What to Expect at the 2025 Baltimore Met Gala
This year’s TIMELESS theme promises a breathtaking experience for attendees, blending historical reverence with contemporary creativity and futuristic imagination. Guests can expect:
  • Historical Homage – Iconic fashion moments brought to life, celebrating vintage elegance and timeless couture.
  • Contemporary Innovation – Bold, modern designs reflecting today’s evolving trends and sustainable fashion.
  • Futuristic Vision – Cutting-edge styles, experimental materials, and digital artistry reimagining the future of fashion.
  • Culinary Excellence – A showcase of dishes inspired by the past, present, and future, curated by Baltimore’s most innovative chefs.
  • Multimedia Art Installations – Immersive exhibits blending traditional and augmented reality elements to transport attendees through different eras of style.
Beyond a night of glamour, the BMG remains a celebration of Baltimore’s creative and philanthropic heartbeat, where art, culture, and community collide. With the return of The Baltimore MET Gala Experience on WBAL, audiences far beyond the venue will witness this extraordinary event’s evolution.
Finney added, “The Baltimore MET Gala is The Finn Group’s continued effort to curate culture with staple activations. More importantly, the Baltimore MET Gala is a key result in providing economic impact and supporting small African American businesses in Baltimore and the region! This will be our legacy!”
As the city counts down to September 13th, the message is clear—this year’s Baltimore Met Gala is set to be TIMELESS.
