The 2023 NAAAHR National Conference is almost upon us: “The Future of HR and DE&I: People, Power, and Process”.

By way of introduction, the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources is the oldest and largest Black/Brown HR organization in the world. Founded in Baltimore and established in 1998, we have been serving the Human Resources profession, local businesses and communities, and all of our constituents as a resource to career, leadership, and business development. We have 32 Chapters across the US and USVI, and 4 International Partners, with over 40,000 in our membership and network.
This May 23rd – 28th NAAAHR will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary back home in the Charm City of Baltimore. And for the first time in HR history, we will have all 5 HBCUs in a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Think Tank Panel Discussion. The Provosts and Vice Presidents of Howard University, Bowie State University, Morgan State University, University of MD Eastern Shore, and Coppin State will discuss their perspectives on the ever-needed topic of HBCU student progression from college to career. This event and having all 5 HBCUs will be written into our history and that of Human Resources. The conference theme is “The Future of HR and DE&I: People, Power, and Process“, and the panel topic is “The HBCU DEI Think Tank Panel Discussion” on Thursday (May 25) at 9:00 am. For more information about the conference, please visit our conference platform at: https://www.accelevents.com/e/2023naaahrnationalconference.

The objectives of this panel discussion will include some of the following:
• What Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion means to our HBCU Faculty, Staff and
Students
• Why it is important to build relationships with HBCUs, particularly for your
Recruitment Strategies
• The advantages of understanding recruiting and hiring Black and Brown students
• How HBCUs prepare students to be successful in their careers post-graduation
The distinguished HBCU Provost and Vice President participating on the panel are:
• Dr. Hongtao Yu, B.S., M.S., Ph.D. – Provost and Senior Vice President for
Academic Affairs at Morgan State University
• Dr. Pamela Richardson Wilks, Ph.D. – Provost and Vice President for
Academic Affairs at Coppin State University
• Dr. Anthony Wutoh, Ph.D., R.Ph. – Provost and Chief Academic Officer at
Howard University
• Dr. Rondall E. Allen, B.S., PharmD. – Provost and Vice President for Academic
Affairs at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore
• Latoya Jenkins, MBA – Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student
