Youth Violence Prevention & Community Health Festival, June 15th at Easterwood

Youth Violence Prevention & Community Health Festival, June 15th at Easterwood

Join us for an exciting day of activities at the Youth Violence Prevention & Community Health Festival on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Easterwood Park. This event, sponsored by the Omega Baltimore Foundation, Inc., features a Flag Football Super Bowl and a Basketball Tournament running simultaneously.

Event Highlights:

  • Basketball Tournament and Flag Football League: Organized by Carver High alumni Joel Gamble and Mike Wilson, this event aims to provide West Baltimore youth with violence prevention activities through sports.
  • Health and Wellness Festival: Hosted at the Easterwood Recreation Center, offering free COVID and flu vaccinations, dental checkups, and various other healthcare services.

Event Details:

  • What: Youth Violence Prevention Basketball Tournament and Flag Football League, alongside a Community Health and Wellness Festival.
  • When: Saturday, June 15, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m.
  • Where: Troy Brailey Easterwood Park, 1530 N. Bentalou Street, Baltimore, MD 21216 (at the corner of N. Bentalou and Baker Streets).

Key Organizers:

  • Joel Gamble: President, JGCYO (Joel Gamble Community Youth Organization)
  • Mike Wilson: President, Fathers in the Hood Basketball
  • Zanes Cypress: President, Omega Baltimore Foundation, Inc., and Director, Easterwood Recreation Center

Purpose: To promote violence prevention through sports programming, operated by community leaders mentoring West Baltimore youth.
