(BALTIMORE – February 10, 2023) – I am proud to report that Woodlawn High School students attended the Black Engineer of the Year Awards (Beya) yesterday in Washington, D.C.
For the uninitiated, the BEYA STEM Community of over 10,000 strong serves K-12 students, college students, corporate, government, and military professionals, and STEM employers with three (3) days of learning, networking, celebrating excellence, and showcasing career opportunities. Join us on February 9 and February 11 for the 2023 BEYA STEM Conference’s free Career Fair.
As a part of a mentoring program, we are working with Howard University professor Somme Joe and others to provide students with access and exposure to all things STEM. We’re also setting up biweekly Zoom calls every other Friday so as to better engage our students throughout the year.
We’d love for any of you to share your STEM and professional experiences with the students anytime in the near future. This is a culturally-conscious connection oriented effort.
