(BALTIMORE – December 22, 2024) – Be sure to attend the Black Wall Street New Year EMPOWERMENT SUMMIT on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Sankofa Children’s Museum of African Cultures at 4330 Pimlico Rd. This will be an inspiring event filled with workshops, speakers, networking opportunities, and, of course, the coveted Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards. This event is presented by BMORENews.com, the West North Avenue Development Authority (WNADA), and Fulton Bank.

Honorees receiving the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards include Tiana Wells-Lawson.

Who is Tiana?

Tiana Wells-Lawson has worked in the financial services industry for 23 years.  She is currently a Vice President and Business Banking Relationship Manager for Fulton Bank, specializing in providing access to capital for small and medium-sized businesses.  Tiana currently serves on the Advisory Board of Fulton Bank’s Diversity Affinity Banking Program, where she assists with designing unique products that will support women-owned, minority-owned, veteran-owned, and LGBTQ+-owned businesses.  Previously, as the Senior Vice President of Business and Economic Development for The Harbor Bank of Maryland, Tiana established the Private Banking Division and secured more than $150 million in new depository relationships.

Before joining The Harbor Bank of Maryland, Tiana was key in developing the Private Banking Programs at SunTrust and PNC Banks.  As the first Vice President Private Banking Relationship Manager in the Greater Washington area in 2012 for SunTrust Bank, she became the number one second mortgage loan producer in the company.  Tiana was a member of the Private Client Group start-up team in Baltimore County in 2008.  She established the Baltimore County (North) Private Banking territory, including Jacksonville, Phoenix, Sparks, and Hunt Valley, Maryland.

In 2006, Tiana managed a $400 million portfolio as a Premier Relationship Manager at Bank of America.  She began her career in banking at MBNA America in 1999, managing the credit, collections, billing disputes, and risk and fraud departments.

Tiana serves as a member of the Executive Advisory Council for the Maryland Bankers Association.  She is a member of the Towson University Alumni Association Board and is an Advisory Board member for the Maryland Black Chamber of Commerce.

Tiana received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communications from Towson University.  She currently resides in Laurel, MD, and enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband and two children.
