(BALTIMORE – June 10, 2025) – Secure your seat today for Doni Glover 6.0: A BMORENews Benefit, happening Friday, June 27, 2025, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Baltimore Unity Hall, 1505 Eutaw Place. RSVP now at DoniGlover60.eventbrite.com.

This unforgettable evening will feature the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards, an ongoing tradition by BMORENews since 2011. The awards have honored nearly 3,000 Black entrepreneurs, professionals, and their allies in nine major U.S. cities.

The event marks Doni Glover’s 60th birthday and supports BMORENews’ ongoing work, including our award-winning TV show, podcast, and the continued recognition of Black excellence. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Bea Gaddy Center for its vital community service.

Honorees include Shernay Williams.

Who is Shernay?

Shernay Williams is an independent journalist, content strategist, and 3x entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience in broadcast, print, and digital media. She is currently producing a three-part video series exploring why Black women are more likely to die from breast cancer. She also produces health and consumer TV stories for Ivanhoe Broadcast News and freelance reports for ABC27 in Harrisburg, PA. Shernay is chair of the National Association of Black Journalists’ Entrepreneurship Task Force and serves on the leadership team of The Institute for Independent Journalists.

After launching her journalism career at the Afro American Newspaper, she transitioned to local TV as a reporter, anchor, and producer for various stations on the South and East Coasts. She’s covered everything from mayoral races to education to the heroin epidemic. During a break from journalism, she ran a content strategy firm helping businesses tell their stories more effectively, served as an entrepreneurship consultant, and launched a national directory and resources platform for Black mompreneurs.
With a fresh perspective, she returned to journalism as a freelancer in 2023. In 2024, her traveling food series for TheGrio was named a Webby Honoree. Her written and video work has also appeared in MarketWatch, Barron’s, Fast Company, Comcast Newsmakers, Kiplinger, Inc., and various local news outlets.
