(BALTIMORE – November 25, 2024)—Be sure to RSVP for BMORENews.com’s Black Wall Street SOIREE, our annual fundraiser to support our Joe Manns Black Wall Street initiative, on Thursday, December 5, 2024 (6 to 9 pm) at the Downtown Cultural Arts Center at 401 N. Howard Street.

As always, the event will feature the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards, where we celebrate Black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race.

Honorees will include Shermaine Pollard.

Who is Shermaine?

Shermaine Pollard is a seasoned Healthcare Supply Chain and Supplier Diversity professional with over 25 years of experience.

As the Business Diversity Director at MedStar Health, Inc., Shermaine oversees the company’s comprehensive Business Diversity strategic focus and aligns it with its strategic objectives. Her work with senior leaders and procurement teams to raise Business Diversity awareness, coupled with her community outreach efforts to build and sustain relationships with diverse suppliers, is instrumental in MedStar Health’s operations.

Shermaine Pollard is a professional and a leading voice among regional healthcare leaders in fostering Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity. Her role in this crucial aspect of healthcare instills confidence and reassurance in her peers and the community.

Inspired by her upbringing in Baltimore City’s underserved community, Shermaine is deeply committed to equity for all. She sees business diversity as a vital link between the patient, their caregivers, and the community. Her future goal is to continue championing diversity and inclusion in healthcare supply chain management, with a focus on empowering qualified Diverse Business Enterprises (DBEs) to compete for contracting opportunities, removing barriers to participation, encouraging competitiveness, and fostering innovation.

Shermaine’s academic journey at the University of Phoenix, where she earned a dual master’s degree in business and healthcare administration, is a testament to her dedication and expertise in the field.
