Saviours’ Day 2025: Our Way of Devotion
Muslims gathered for jumu'ah prayer service during Saviours' Day 2025 held in Chicago at The National Center, headquarters of the Nation of Islam.

Our way of devotion is the way of peace, unity, compassion, justice and love. We don’t want to be part of toxic, hateful American culture.

(CHICAGO – March 3, 2025) – “Our Lord, and make us both submissive to Thee, and (raise) from our offspring, a nation submissive to Thee, and show us our ways of devotion and turn to us (mercifully); surely Thou art the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful.

“Our Lord, and raise up in them a Messenger from among them who shall recite to them Thy messages and teach them the Book and the Wisdom, and purify them Surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise.”—Holy Qur’an, Chapter 2, Verses 128, 129 Maulana Muhammad Ali Translation

“Devotion.” When we look at the definition of the word, we are offered interesting concepts about its meaning.

Devotion can be defined as a feeling of strong love, loyalty, or dedication to a person, cause, or belief. It can refer to a religious practice or exercise. It can be devotion to a person, showing love, care, or loyalty to someone. It can mean being devoted to a cause or person as well as being inspired by someone’s devotion.

But devotion is certainly more than ritual.

Muslims gathered for jumu’ah prayer service during Saviours’ Day 2025 held in Chicago at The National Center, headquarters of the Nation of Islam.

If we are presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice, as the Bible says, our way of devotion includes how we live our lives.

That includes our thoughts, our beliefs, our values, our conduct, our understanding of what life is and how life is to be lived.

Our way of devotion is the way of peace, sacrifice, unity, compassion, charity, good manners, good morals, joy, justice, discipline, courage, purpose, and service all rooted in divine guidance and love.

We don’t feed into nor are we desirous of being part of toxic, hateful American culture.

We wish to be a free and independent people. Full freedom and independence mean we are free of the minds of this world. We wish to break completely free from the ways of this world and the way of the enemy of God who is our enemy.

As we witness the unraveling of a great nation, watch the fall of America and the crumbling of the world of the Caucasian people, it is self-evident that the children of our former slave masters and their brethren cannot save themselves.

Whites no longer put up a pretense of sincerity or concern for us whether we are trying to cross a street in urban America or trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea fleeing Africa for supposedly a better life in Europe. They kill us or simply watch us die at sea as they mock us and applaud the end of our lives.

“Murder is in his nature. It’s easy for him to kill. You don’t have to give him a justifiable reason, all you have to do is show a little resistance,” observed the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, in a message delivered in May 2018 at Mosque Maryam in Chicago. “Un-Masking Satan” was the title of the lecture.

“Sometimes you don’t even have to resist: He wants to kill you,” Minister Farrakhan added.

Yet their societies are coming apart, and their cancerous, capitalistic economies are dying. Their populations are withering away and can’t reproduce life easily. Their outlook for the future is horrible. Their minds are in turmoil. Their actions grow more wicked and barbaric by the day.

In America, the president is dismantling the U.S. government. Americans are hateful of one another and there is no consensus on a shared vision or national interest. Politics are caustic and impotent. Religion is fading and drug abuse remains a massive, intractable problem.

Decadence and deviance are the order of the day and not even children are safe. Mass shootings and an addiction to deadly weapons abound. Killing, robbing, raping, swindling, scamming and corruption are also the order of the day.

This is not our way of devotion. This is the way of a dying world and a dying civilization. But if one civilization is dying, another civilization must be rising as nature abhors a vacuum and God Himself has promised to bring in a new world where human misery will end and peace will reign. He has also promised to put us, the despised and rejected Black Man and Black Woman in America, in rulership in this new reality.

“I thank Allah (God) so much for remembering His promise to Abraham, that his seed would be a stranger in a land that is not theirs and they would serve a strange people in that strange land who would afflict them for 400 years; but He said to Abraham:

‘After that time I will come, and I will judge that nation which they shall serve, and afterwards shall they come out with great substance.’ That’s a great promise—and Allah (God) never breaks His promise,” said Minister Farrakhan during the Mosque Maryam lecture.

If the nature of the Caucasian has determined his world, then our nature as members of the Original Family of the planet, as we are restored, will allow a new, righteous civilization to naturally flow from us.

Saviours’ Day is an expression of this new world, new life and our new way of devotion. It is one reason why we feel so good in one another’s company and a profound spirit envelops us.

So, during Saviours’ Day, the annual gathering of the Nation of Islam where we mark the birth of Master Fard Muhammad, the Great Mahdi of the Muslims and the Messiah of the Christians, we are grateful for His coming and bestowing blessings upon us by giving us the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and Minister Farrakhan as divine servants.

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad said Master Fard Muhammad came to us from the Holy City of Mecca, in Arabia and was born February 26, 1877. Without His coming to choose and seek and save us as His people, we would have no future.

But because He came, we were able to gather in Chicago, Feb. 21-23, on the grounds of our National Center for the Re-Education and Re-Training of the Black Man and Woman and Mosque Maryam. We were able to delight in being ourselves—and our wonderful new way of devotion.
