(BALTIMORE – March 18, 2024) – Be sure to mark your calendars for a very special BMORENews.com event: Black Wall Street PRIM & PROPER set for Monday, March 18, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm at 206 E. Redwood Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.

RSVP to https://blackwallstreetprimandproper.eventbrite.com.

Since 2011, BMORENews.com and its partners have recognized Black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as the people who support them regardless of race. To date, over 2,500 individuals have been recognized in 9 major US cities. The aim is to encourage entrepreneurship and to help preserve little-known Black Wall Street history nationally. Honorees receive the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Award.

Honorees include Sabrina Tapp-Harper, the highest-ranking woman in the history of the Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office. In her role, she served as the Assistant Sheriff of Baltimore City.

Tapp-Harper joined the agency in 2014 after serving decades in the Baltimore City Police Department where she retired as a Major.

A Baltimore native and graduate of Dunbar High School, class of 1985, Tapp-Harper went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Coppin State University and a Master’s in Applied Behavioral Science from Johns Hopkins University.

Tapp-Harper has 34 years of overall experience in law enforcement, which included a fellowship with the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Her experience also led her on a trip to the White House, in support of the Violence Against Women Act.

Tapp-Harper said, “I am grateful and honored to have served the citizens of Baltimore with this historical ground-breaking role. Although I’m the first, I will do everything in my power to ensure I’m not the last.”
