NEW BALTIMORE: Giving Flowers to the Builders
Frank Johnson surrounded by his wife and friends. Happy Birthday, Frankie!

(BALTIMORE – October 25, 2025) – Everybody knows Frank Johnson — at least, if you’ve been anywhere near the entertainment world. Gold records on the wall. Years with Kevin Liles at Def Jam. Collaborations with some of the biggest names in music. The man can write, play, sing, and — back in the day — he could dance, too. (He just turned 59, so we’ll let him decide about that part!)

Last night, friends and family came out to celebrate him — an unforgettable evening filled with laughter, good food, and love. Konan had the music flowing. Then Mike Thomas took the mic and sang a gospel song so powerful it brought Frank to tears. You could see his heart wide open. That’s who he is: a man who loves Jesus Christ deeply, even behind that tough exterior.

Comedian Larry Lancaster was also in the building — a longtime friend and brother to Frank. The love between them is real. Larry recently came on The Doni Glover Show and spoke about that bond. It’s mutual respect — built through years of grinding in the game, lifting each other up, and staying true to the mission.

Now, let’s be clear: BMORENews.com has been the platform leading the charge behind the New Baltimore mantra. And this right here — what we’re doing — is exactly what New Baltimore looks like. Collaboration. Respect. Vision. Real people working together to move the culture forward.

That’s what our partnership with G. Grant Griffin Media represents. Frank, Marc Clarke, Dr. Vonnya Pettigrew, and I have been putting in serious work with Rondy Griffin — producing local TV content that highlights our people, our power, and our progress. Frank is a key part of that equation.

In less than a year, we’ve covered events and interviews across the region — from Howard University and Bowie State to Coppin State University President Anthony Jenkins, the Baltimore Waterfront Marriott, and even the Met Gala. We’ve partnered with entities like STEM City USA, CIAA, Fulton Bank, MWMCA, Baltimore Main Streets, WNADA, The Salvation Army, The Afro, The Baltimore Times, Jazzy Summer Nights, AfroPreak, Elev8 Baltimore, Thurgood Marshall Center, Downtown Cultural Arts Center, Sankofa Children’s Museum, Upton Boxing Center, BDC, and Black Wall Street 25th Street — and the list keeps growing.

This is New Baltimore — not waiting for permission, not waiting for validation. Just building. Together.

So yeah, we’re taking our credit — because we’ve earned it.
And if you know Frank Johnson, you already know: he’s part of that story too.
