Kevin Scott’s Benedetto Haberdashery Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Official Grand Opening and Black Wall Street Honors in Baltimore
Black Wall Street BENEDETTO 2.0, April 26th, 3-5p, 119 W. Mulberry St. ALL ARE WELCOME!

(BALTIMORE – April 12, 2026) – On Sunday, April 26, 2026, Baltimore will gather at 119 W. Mulberry Street for a moment that is bigger than fashion.

It’s legacy.
It’s evolution.
It’s Black Wall Street.

At the center of it all is Kevin Scott, the visionary behind Benedetto Haberdashery, who is celebrating 25 years in business with the official grand opening of his new downtown location. The celebration will feature a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2:30 p.m., marking a major milestone in Scott’s journey from entrepreneur to developer.

From a Hoopty to a Movement

When it comes to craftsmanship, few possess Kevin Scott’s mental arsenal. Even fewer can match his experience—let alone build a successful clothing business from the trunk of a hoopty.

That’s not mythology. That’s Baltimore.

Over the years, Scott has earned a reputation for putting colors and fabrics together in a way that consistently leaves people in awe. His work is more than fashion—it’s precision, instinct, and vision. He has dressed some of the most accomplished brothers in Baltimore, helping shape how Black excellence shows up in boardrooms, courtrooms, and beyond.

But his journey didn’t come without choices.

As esteemed attorney Warren Brown reflected at a recent Black Wall Street gathering at the new location—one that Scott himself developed—there was a time when Kevin could have “stuck his toe” back into the streets.

He didn’t.

Instead, he chose discipline.
He chose growth.
He chose legacy.

Mastering More Than Fashion

Surrounded by mentors like Jimmy Britton and Al Wylie, Scott stayed focused and committed to his craft. He studied relentlessly, putting in the kind of hours most people never see.

And then he expanded his vision.

Determined to control more of his destiny, Scott stepped into the world of development—learning how to engage architects, understand building parameters, and navigate the complexities of rehabilitating property. It was not something he was trained to do. He decided to master it.

In doing so, he didn’t just grow a business—he built an asset.

Today, Kevin Scott stands as both a master clothier and a developer who successfully rehabilitated a downtown building just steps away from where his journey began.

A New Location. A New Chapter.

That moment—the 2:30 p.m. ribbon-cutting—won’t just open doors. It will symbolize 25 years of perseverance, discipline, and vision finally crystallized into ownership, expansion, and legacy.

Anyone who understands business knows that moving into a new location is more than a change of address.

It’s a reset.

New traffic patterns. New visibility. New expectations.

In many ways, it’s like starting over.

And that’s why this moment matters.

Having known Kevin Scott since I was a teenager, I’ve had a front-row seat to his evolution. I’ve seen the grind. I’ve seen the discipline. I’ve seen the growth.

And I understand what this transition requires.

This is when support matters most.
This is when community shows up.

Black Wall Street BENEDETTO 2.0

The awards presentation will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m., immediately following the 2:30 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony.

More Than a Celebration

This is not just a grand opening.
This is not just a 25-year anniversary.

This is a statement.

A statement about what it means to stay the course.
A statement about what it means to evolve.
A statement about what it means to build something that lasts.

For Kevin Scott, this moment is well-earned.

For Baltimore, it’s something to witness.

And for those who understand the power of Black enterprise, it’s something to support.
