Highlights from BEA’s inaugural Solutions Summit

(WASHINGTON, DC – April 25, 2023) – Our inaugural BEA Solutions Summit in March brought together decision-makers from business, government, and philanthropy to build consensus on the leading solutions to advance work, wages, and wealth across the Black community.

Click here to see highlights from the Summit’s action-oriented panels and sessions.

The Summit highlighted research, on-the-ground solutions, and insights from prominent leaders such as Vice President Kamala Harris, Ambassador Susan Rice, Ariel Investments Founder John Rogers, Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, author Heather McGhee, and former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. We are grateful to our Summit sponsors Deloitte, Bank of America, Capital One Insights Center, AARP, Apple, and Bloomberg Philanthropies for their partnership.

I was struck by what Steve Benjamin, new Senior Advisor to the President of the United States, said from the stage: “Nowhere else in the world is this level of conversation happening, with these leaders of this stature. This is a special place to be right now.” He was right.

During one of the Summit’s dynamic conversations, Ray McGuire reminded us, “the cavalry is not coming, the cavalry exists in this room.” He, too, was right. It is incumbent on us to translate the words in the room into meaningful action.

In the coming weeks, BEA Foundation will release our Architecture for Action, a curated set of the leading solutions to advance Black economic prosperity and wealth-building, which incorporates the insights and experiences shared at the Summit. We are excited to partner with you to help bring the solution set to life.

The best way to take part in BEA signature events like the Solutions Summit is to become a member of BEA. Please click here to learn more, and reach out to info@blackeconomicalliance.org with any questions.

Thank you for your ongoing support. More to come!
