Reed, Vice President and Mortgage Originator at WesBanco Bank, and Kline, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones, bring decades of leadership, financial expertise, and community engagement to the Chamber as it continues to strengthen and support Charles County's business community.

(LA PLATA, MD – July 16, 2026) — The Charles County Chamber of Commerce has appointed James Reed of WesBanco Bank and Shaun Kline of Edward Jones to its Board of Directors, strengthening the organization’s leadership with two professionals recognized for their experience in finance, community engagement, and business development.

The appointments fill current vacancies on the Chamber’s Board and reflect the organization’s ongoing commitment to strong governance and broad representation of Charles County’s business community.

“The Chamber is committed to ensuring our Board reflects the professionalism, leadership, and community commitment our members deserve,” said Kathy Guzman, President and CEO of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce. “James and Shaun each bring valuable experience, a heart for service, and a strong commitment to supporting the business community. We are excited to welcome them to the Board.”

LaKeysha Moore, Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, also praised the appointments.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to welcome James Reed and Shaun Kline to the Chamber Board,” Moore said. “Both gentlemen bring strong professional experience, a commitment to service, and a desire to help strengthen the business community in Charles County. Their leadership and perspectives will be valuable as we continue advancing the Chamber’s mission and supporting our members.”

Reed serves as Vice President and Mortgage Originator with WesBanco Bank, bringing more than 21 years of experience in banking and mortgage lending. His professional background includes affordable housing initiatives, community lending, financial literacy education, and helping families achieve homeownership. His work has focused particularly on expanding access to financial education and wealth-building opportunities for low- and moderate-income households.

Kline is a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones whose career includes financial advising, client education, leadership, operations management, and community involvement. In addition to helping clients pursue their financial goals, he has served on the Chamber’s Membership Committee and previously held leadership positions in retail operations.

According to the Chamber, both appointees offer valuable expertise in finance, relationship-building, strategic growth, and community service that will enhance the Board’s ability to advocate for and support businesses throughout Charles County.

“The Chamber’s Board of Directors plays a critical role in guiding our mission and ensuring we remain responsive to the needs of our members,” Guzman said. “James and Shaun bring unique perspectives and a clear desire to contribute to the continued growth and success of the Chamber.”
