BMORENews.com’s Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards: A Global Impact
Congratulations to our April 2024 honorees: Melissa Almonor, Lynette Battle, Makonnen Jackman, Dr. Victoria Phillips, & Ken Bright.

We celebrate Black entrepreneurs and professionals as well as
the people who support them regardless of race.

One of our most famous honorees was Washington, D.C. legendary Mayor Marion Barry, Micheline Bowman, and Doni Glover, Publisher of BMORENews.com and Founder of the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards. He was honored in Prince George’s County – thanks to Micheline Bowman (C).

(HARLEM – April 14, 2024) – In the landscape of entrepreneurship and community empowerment, BMORENews.com’s Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards stand as beacons of inspiration and achievement. What began as a local initiative in Baltimore has blossomed into a movement that transcends borders, reaching major cities across the United States and making waves globally.

Fifteen years ago, the visionary Jet Miller ignited a spark of ambition in the founder of BMORENews.com, prompting ventures into New York City. Miller’s passion for harnessing talent and seizing opportunities resonated deeply, catalyzing expansion and innovation. Her journey, culminating in taking her business to Europe, epitomizes the boldness and audacity that drive success.

BMORENews.com’s reach extends far beyond the streets of Baltimore. With coverage spanning continents—from Africa to the Middle East and Canada—the platform has become a conduit for sharing stories and amplifying voices worldwide. This global perspective enriches the discourse on entrepreneurship, culture, and societal progress.

Lee Vaughan, President of the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards, and honoree D. L. Hughley in Las Vegas.

The journey from Baltimore to New York City, spanning eleven years of growth and exploration, reflects a commitment to building bridges and forging partnerships. Invitations to events like the Black Media Summit at the United Nations extended to key figures like Bob Ingram and Marsha Jews, underscore the platform’s influence and significance on the national stage.

Personal reflections on childhood memories in New York City evoke a sense of nostalgia and appreciation for the energy and vibrancy of urban life. Harlem, with its rich cultural heritage, serves as a symbol of resilience and community spirit—a beacon of hope in a city that never sleeps.

The expansion of BMORENews.com’s Black Wall Street Awards to a total of nine major U.S. cities marks a milestone in the journey towards empowerment and recognition.

Beyond the borders of the United States, BMORENews.com’s impact extends to places like Lewiston, where the legacy of African Americans seeking freedom is commemorated. As the mighty Niagara River flows, so too does the spirit of resilience and determination, reminding us of the power of collective action and solidarity.

BMORENews.com’s Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards embody the ethos of boldness, audacity, and collaboration. They serve as a testament to the transformative power of entrepreneurship and community engagement, inspiring us to reach higher, dream bigger, and forge a brighter future for all.

To date, over 2,500 individuals have been recognized in New York, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Richmond, Atlanta, New Orleans, Birmingham, Las Vegas, and Tulsa.
