The news before the news where we uncover the truth!

In 2024, BMORENews.com continued its mission to highlight Black excellence and foster economic empowerment in Baltimore and beyond. Key activities included:

  • Black Wall Street Events: BMORENews.com hosted several signature events celebrating Black entrepreneurs and professionals. The annual Black Wall Street SOIREE on December 5, 2024, at the Downtown Cultural Arts Center honored individuals such as April Watts and John Lee for their contributions to the community.

These events focused on civil rights, business development, and leadership within the community.

  • Media Production: The Emmy-nominated Doni Glover Show continued to feature influential guests and cover pertinent topics affecting the Black community. Episodes included discussions with figures like Dr. David Miller, focusing on educational needs, and Karen Price-Ward, highlighting initiatives in workforce development. The show also featured P. David Bramble in his quest to develop the Baltimore Inner-Harbor, serial entrepreneur Lance London’s expansion of Carolina Kitchen in Owings Mills, MD, and the 100th birthday celebration of Herb Brown, a Baltimore business icon.

  • Advocacy and Editorials: BMORENews.com maintained its role as a voice for the community by publishing editorials and opinion pieces addressing social justice issues, economic development, and the importance of supporting Black-owned businesses, like Citywide Youth Development – home of Made in Bmore Clothing in the 2100 block of West North Avenue and the broader renaissance under the guise of the West North Avenue Development Authority; it is a $28 million project that already has made an unprecedented impact in West Baltimore. The platform also covered significant local news, such as Morgan State University’s record enrollment, their fall graduation with 450 students of all three levels, and community events like the Greater Baltimore Urban League’s Block Party.

BMORENews

Through these initiatives, BMORENews.com reinforced its commitment to empowering the Black community, promoting entrepreneurship, and providing a platform for voices that contribute to the socio-economic advancement of Baltimore and surrounding areas.
