(BALTIMORE – January 19, 2025) – The next BMORENews.com business networking event is Black Wall Street BWI-THURGOOD MARSHALL AIRPORT on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 5:30 to 8 pm. RSVP to BlackWallStreetBWI2025.

Honorees include State Senator Antonio Hayes (D-40), BMORENews.com’s Man of the Year 2024.

Representing Maryland’s 40th District, Senator Antonio Hayes is deeply rooted in Baltimore’s history and challenges. Growing up near Penn-North, he witnessed the struggles of underserved communities and has spent over 25 years working to effect meaningful change. Hayes was pivotal in securing over $28 million for revitalizing West Baltimore, focusing on areas long neglected due to systemic issues like redlining.

A key figure in the West North Avenue Development Authority (WNADA), Hayes supports transformative projects such as Coppin State University’s expansion and the Citywide Youth Development business hub, which houses Black-owned enterprises like Made in Bmore Clothing. His efforts symbolize the long-awaited economic and community revitalization of West Baltimore.

As vice chair of the Senate Finance Committee, Hayes oversees critical policy areas, including economic development, transportation, and healthcare. Known for bipartisan collaboration and strong leadership, his work reshapes Baltimore and positions him as a transformative force in Maryland politics.

Senator Hayes has been honored as BMORENews.com’s 2024 Man of the Year for his unwavering dedication and impact.
