Black Wall Street: NEW BALTIMORE Set for Nov. 6th at Coppin State University
Un helping us!

(BALTIMORE – October 24, 2025) – Black Wall Street is coming home — to Coppin State University, the beating heart of West Baltimore’s renaissance.

BMORENews.com, publisher of the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards, is proud to announce the next edition of this celebrated recognition series: “Black Wall Street: NEW BALTIMORE,” set for Wednesday, November 6, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Coppin State University’s College of Business, located at North Avenue and Warwick.

Since launching in Washington, D.C. in 2011 — with the support of Sisters4Sisters Network, Inc. — the Black Wall Street Awards have honored over 3,000 entrepreneurs and community leaders in nine U.S. cities. This fall, the series returns to Baltimore with a powerful new theme: New Baltimore – A Renaissance of Black Leadership, Business, and Community.

🔹 A Historic Intersection Reborn

Once plagued by the devastation of the drug trade, Warwick Avenue and the surrounding corridor now stand as symbols of renewal and resilience. Coppin State University’s state-of-the-art College of Business represents a new chapter — one rooted in education, enterprise, and empowerment.

“It’s a brand new day,” says BMORENews.com publisher and event founder Doni Glover. “A New Baltimore is on the horizon — bold, unapologetic, and led by dynamic Black leadership determined to transform our city’s future.”

🔹 A New Generation Rising

Mayor Brandon Scott, Baltimore’s “Blackity Black” chief executive, stands among this new generation of leaders. Running plays reminiscent of Marion Barry’s era of opportunity, Scott has cultivated space for a wave of innovators, executives, and advocates to rise — figures such as Shelonda Stokes, Otis Rolley, and Michael Anthony Thomas. Oh, and let’s not forget P. David Bramble.

They are joined by creative and entrepreneurial voices like Mario Armstrong, Choo Smith, David Miller, and Akio Evans, all pushing forward the movement toward a reimagined Baltimore.

🔹 Honoring Legacy, Elevating the Future

While the city’s energy is youthful, the roots of this movement run deep. BMORENews honors veteran leaders who paved the way — icons like Dr. Warren Hayman, and long-serving professionals such as Laura Johnson of United Way, who has quietly shaped community impact for over three decades.

🔹 The Spirit of Coppin

This partnership with the Coppin State University National Alumni Association, under the leadership of President Kevin Carr, underscores Coppin’s historic role in Baltimore’s transformation. The awards will spotlight distinguished Coppin alumni and community leaders who exemplify the school’s legacy of excellence and service.
