Black Wall Street CHELSEA: Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards Return to New York, April 14
TDGS goes to NYC April 14th for Black Wall Street CHELSEA!

Featuring the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards and a Special New York City Taping of The Doni Glover TV Show

(NEW YORK, NY – March 15, 2026) — Black Wall Street returns to New York City on April 14 with an intimate gathering in Chelsea, Manhattan, bringing together entrepreneurs, community leaders, and institution-builders for an evening of recognition, conversation, and national media exposure.

From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Black Wall Street CHELSEA will host the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards, honoring individuals who are strengthening communities, supporting entrepreneurship, and building lasting institutions across the country.

As part of the evening’s program, The Doni Glover TV Show will tape a special episode live from Chelsea — marking the program’s first official television taping in New York City.

Seating for the taping is intentionally limited to 25 guests, creating a focused studio-style environment for meaningful dialogue and recognition. If weather permits, additional supporters may gather outside the venue as television cameras capture the historic moment.

While the television taping is a milestone, BMORENews’ work in New York stretches back more than a decade. The organization has hosted Black Wall Street gatherings in Brooklyn and Harlem, and in 2013 convened the BMORENews Global Forum on Women’s Empowerment at the United Nations, establishing early institutional ties in the city.

The Chelsea convening represents the next chapter in that ongoing relationship.

The evening will be hosted by Victor Pate, a Harlem-based advocate for the formerly incarcerated who has dedicated his work to reentry support, economic empowerment, and second chances for individuals returning home from incarceration. Pate has appeared multiple times on The Emmy-nominated Doni Glover Podcast and has previously invited Glover to participate in major convenings in New York focused on justice and economic opportunity.

Also instrumental in organizing Black Wall Street CHELSEA is Tasemere Gathers, CEO of The DMFirm (New York), a longtime business connector and collaborator who has worked with Glover on cross-state initiatives for several years.

Glover also credits Jet Miller with encouraging him years ago to expand his vision in New York.

“She told me, ‘If you want more, you have to go to New York,’” Glover recalls. “Her field is beauty. Mine is media. But New York is the place for both.”

He also acknowledges the foundational support of Walter Edwards, Regina Smith, and the late Jitu Weusi of Brooklyn, a respected educator and institution-builder whose impact in the borough continues to resonate. Additional encouragement from leaders such as Linda Weaver and Odessa Hopkins helped strengthen BMORENews’ early efforts in the city.

“This isn’t about spectacle,” said Glover. “It’s about alignment. When you lift others up and help them be seen, you rise too.”

Founded in 2002, BMORENews.com has steadily expanded its footprint through journalism, awards platforms, television, and community convenings that recognize entrepreneurs and leaders often overlooked by mainstream media.

With events now spanning multiple cities, Black Wall Street CHELSEA continues that mission — connecting Baltimore’s entrepreneurial ecosystem with New York’s global influence while spotlighting the individuals building opportunity in their communities.

The episode taped in Chelsea will air at a later date.

From Baltimore to New York — aligned.
