(ST. MARY’S COUNTY, MD – February 23, 2026) — Leadership is often forged in discipline — and refined in service. For B.J. Hall, both began early.

A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Hall went on to serve in the U.S. Army, bringing structured leadership, strategic thinking, and mission-focused discipline to every role that followed. Today, he is being recognized as one of the honorees at the inaugural Black Wall Street SOUTHERN MARYLAND Awards for his sustained commitment to civic engagement and community development in St. Mary’s County.

Over the past eight years, Hall has played an active role in shaping local governance and economic strategy. His service includes appointments to the St. Mary’s County Planning Commission, the Economic Development Commission, and the Tri-County Council Workforce Development Board — positions that required collaboration across sectors on issues ranging from infrastructure and growth to workforce readiness and regional competitiveness.

His leadership extends beyond public boards.

Hall has chaired Government Relations for Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.’s Second District, previously served as President of the St. Mary’s County NAACP, and acted as Treasurer for the Maryland State Conference of the NAACP. Across these roles, he has consistently positioned himself at the intersection of policy, advocacy, and community empowerment.

A West Point graduate and Army veteran, Hall brings a leadership style grounded in service. A single father who has raised his family in St. Mary’s County, he often speaks about the importance of local representation, principled governance, and community-rooted decision-making.

That philosophy aligns with the spirit of the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards — recognizing individuals who strengthen economic ecosystems, build civic infrastructure, and contribute to the long-term vitality of their communities.

Black Wall Street has always been about more than commerce. It has been about leadership, stewardship, and responsibility to place.

Through military service, civic appointments, nonprofit leadership, and community advocacy, B.J. Hall has demonstrated a consistent commitment to St. Mary’s County’s growth and future.

Congratulations to B.J. Hall on being honored at this milestone Southern Maryland celebration.

The Black Wall Street SOUTHERN MARYLAND Awards are presented by BMORENews.com and the Joe Manns Black Wall Street Awards program.
