Mayor Brandon M. Scott Announces New Fall Festival Bringing Food, Fun, and Entertainment to War Memorial Plaza

Singer/songwriter Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds to headline the first-ever Charm City Live Festival

(BALTIMORE – August 23, 2022) —  Mayor Brandon M. Scott and Baltimore City Recreation and Parks (BCRP) are excited to announce an event that will transform War Memorial Plaza into Baltimore’s newest event destination. Today, the mayor, alongside BCRP Director Reginald Moore and Shelonda Stokes, President of the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, shared information about Charm City Live, a one-day festival that will bring food, fun and music to War Memorial Plaza. This family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, September 24 from 12 p.m. to  8 p.m. and celebrate the melting pot of vibrant cultures that make Charm City so special.

“I am excited to have Charm City Live be another opportunity for Baltimoreans and those visiting our great city to gather for a day full of festivities designed to appeal to a diverse group of people,” said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. “I believe it is essential to create opportunities for people from all walks of life to connect. What better way to do so than by hosting a festival that brings out the best of Baltimore, from food to local talent and everything in between.”

Baltimore residents will enjoy family fun in the kids zone, treats, and other local bites from some of Baltimore’s best eateries, goods and community resources provided by local businesses, and sounds from national recording artists.

The Charm City Live talent lineup includes:

  • Internationally-renowned singer, songwriter, and producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds (about Babyface)
  • Grammy-nominated songstress Kelly Price (about Kelly Price)
  • Pop singer Rebecca Black (about Rebecca Black)
  • R&B vocalist Jon B (about Jon B)

More artists to be announced at a later date.

“Any opportunity that we can create to get Baltimoreans outdoors and into our parks and spaces is a highlight for our agency. It’s also important for us to show visitors to Baltimore just how beautiful our spaces are,” said BCRP Director Reginald Moore. “We’re honored to work alongside Mayor Scott and city agencies to bring this new experience to Baltimore.”

Charm City Live is free and open to people of all ages. For more information, visit charmcitylive.baltimorecity.gov.

As a result of the event, residents can expect road closures at Gay, Baltimore, Saratoga, Lexington and Fayette Streets beginning Friday, September 23. Paid parking is available at the following parking garages and lots. Prices will vary.
