(WOODLAWN, MD – August 28, 2023) – Angela Alsobrooks received a major endorsement from Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates Adrienne Jones, in her run for the United States Senate. Speaker Jones is supporting Angela because of her tireless advocacy on behalf of Marylanders, and believes she is the best candidate to represent Maryland in the U.S. Senate.

“When Angela Alsobrooks became the first black woman elected as a county executive in Maryland, I knew that she would do great things,” said Speaker Adrienne Jones. “I’ve watched her fight hard every day to transform Prince George’s County and create more economic opportunities for its residents. Angela’s voice in the U.S. Senate will ensure that our representation reflects the diversity, strength, and values of all Marylanders.”

“I am honored to receive the endorsement and support of Maryland House of Delegates Speaker Adrienne Jones, who is also a public servant who works hard on behalf of Marylanders,” said Alsobrooks. “As U.S. Senator, I will continue a spirit of collaboration with colleagues at each level of government, and I will work to ensure that all Marylanders have what I want for my own family; safe communities, access to a quality education, jobs, and economic opportunities. We will go farther together.”

With this significant endorsement, Angela has now earned the support of more than 90 community leaders, advocates, and lawmakers from across Maryland. Angela has also been endorsed by several organizations representing a diverse coalition of voters including EMILYs List, Delta for Women in Action (D4), The Collective PAC, Higher Heights for America and the Prince George’s County Muslim Council.

Angela has spent her life in public service. After law school, Angela worked as a law clerk for the Howard County Circuit Court and later the Baltimore City Circuit Court, before becoming a line prosecutor in the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office. Angela, who served two terms as Prince George’s County State’s Attorney and is the sitting County Executive, is running for the U.S. Senate to be a voice for the families she’s worked for throughout her life.
