(ST. MARY’S COUNTY, MD – February 23, 2026) — Wynne Briscoe has been building businesses since she was seven years old. More than three decades later, she has helped thousands of others do the same.

A senior business strategist, entrepreneur, and nationally recognized manufacturing subject-matter expert, Briscoe is among the honorees at the inaugural Black Wall Street SOUTHERN MARYLAND Awards — and her record of service to the region’s small business community makes the recognition more than fitting.

Her academic foundation began at the University of Maryland, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Business and a concentration in Business Law. But her real education came in the trenches — more than 30 years of entrepreneurship across retail, professional services, technology, and manufacturing.

In 2010, she founded Forever Eden Organics, becoming Maryland’s second Certified Organic Bodycare Manufacturer, with a production facility located in St. Mary’s County. The venture positioned her at the intersection of product development, supply chain management, and regulatory compliance — expertise that would later carry her to the national stage.

Since 2001, Briscoe has consulted and advised thousands of startups, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations — guiding entrepreneurs from concept to commercialization, growth, profitability, and exit strategy. She is widely regarded for her ability to translate complex business challenges into practical, results-driven solutions.

On March 12, 2020, Briscoe testified before the United States Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship during the hearing, “The Coronavirus and America’s Small Business Supply Chain.” Broadcast live on C-SPAN to more than 90 countries, her proposed solutions were incorporated into the CARES Act and helped inform the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Made in America Initiative.

A woman from Southern Maryland shaping national policy — that is who Wynne Briscoe is.

In July 2020, she was appointed Regional Director of the Maryland Small Business Development Center at the College of Southern Maryland, a role she held until her retirement in November 2024. During that tenure, she also served as the Statewide Manufacturing Subject Matter Expert for the Maryland SBDC network and was appointed by Governor Larry Hogan to the Maryland Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism in 2021.

She has since entered a new chapter as Senior Veterans Business Specialist for the Mid-Atlantic Veterans Business Outreach Center, supporting veteran and military-connected entrepreneurs across Maryland, Delaware, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.

Her honors include the Maryland SBDC State Star Award, the NAACP “Power of One” Award, the Maryland Governor’s Citation, the Top Ladies of Distinction “Igniting Innovative Inspirations” Award, and the St. Mary’s County Small Business Proclamation. She currently serves as President of both the Lexington Park Business Association and the DMV Christian Chamber of Commerce.

“I have truly enjoyed helping entrepreneurs go from soup to nuts over the years,” Briscoe has said. “Taking their concepts and assisting them through the commercialization process to bring their ideas to market has been an honor.”

That spirit — generous, strategic, and deeply committed to the next generation of builders — is exactly what Black Wall Street SOUTHERN MARYLAND was created to celebrate.

Congratulations to Wynne Briscoe on this well-deserved recognition.
