The fun kicked off Friday, November 4 at the Gene Siskel Film Center and continues through November 20 in person, with a virtual edition of the festival from Nov. 21-28.
The party gets startedĀ Opening NightĀ withĀ “A Black Harvest Feast”Ā and heats up all weekend, with film premieres, tributes, awards presentations, and filmmaker Q&As galore, including an audience Q&A with rising starĀ Elegance Bratton, director of the autobiographical narrative feature debut,Ā THE INSPECTION, which premiered to acclaim at both the Toronto International Film Festival and the Chicago International Film Festival.
Other guest appearances includeĀ Rita Coburn Whack, director ofĀ MARIAN ANDERSON: THE WHOLE WORLD IN HER HANDS;Ā Derek Grace, director ofĀ WHATāS YOUR STORY? THE COMMUNITY FILM WORKSHOPāS 50 YEAR JOURNEY.
