28th BLACK HARVEST FILM FESTIVAL at the Gene Siskel Film Center
Dear Film Lover,

The party is about to start! Do you have your tickets yet for ourĀ 28th Annual Black Harvest Film Festival?

The fun kicked off Friday, November 4 at the Gene Siskel Film Center and continues through November 20 in person, with a virtual edition of the festival from Nov. 21-28.

The party gets startedĀ Opening NightĀ withĀ “A Black Harvest Feast”Ā and heats up all weekend, with film premieres, tributes, awards presentations, and filmmaker Q&As galore, including an audience Q&A with rising starĀ Elegance Bratton, director of the autobiographical narrative feature debut,Ā THE INSPECTION, which premiered to acclaim at both the Toronto International Film Festival and the Chicago International Film Festival.

Other guest appearances includeĀ Rita Coburn Whack, director ofĀ MARIAN ANDERSON: THE WHOLE WORLD IN HER HANDS;Ā Derek Grace, director ofĀ WHAT’S YOUR STORY? THE COMMUNITY FILM WORKSHOP’S 50 YEAR JOURNEY.

And here’s the icing on the cake (the butter on the popcorn?) …. concessions are back!!Ā After 30 long months on hiatus, the Film Center is bringing back concessions just in time for the opening of our Black Harvest Film Festival.Ā Enjoy popcorn, candy, coffee, water, beer, or wineĀ with your movieĀ starting Friday, Nov. 4!
